Default sputtering around 45-50 mph

while driving around 45-50 mph if i try to accelerate slowly the engine sputters a bit but if i really give it some gas and make it down shift everthing is fine just wondering if anyone had any ideas on what may be going on

Sounds like a low grade misfire.

Some vehicle info and service history might help you even further.

2007 f150 5.4 xlt 4x4 and as far as maintenance history im kind of in the dark i just bought the truck not to long ago

Do your regular maintenance. Fuel filter, spark plugs, air filter, etc. then come back if you still have the problem

I'd recommend at least new plugs, coil boots, and springs to start if you're unsure of history. Throw on a fuel filter also just for gee whiz. Your problem is most likely misfire related IMO.
