Default Spraying out the engine compartment

Took my truck in the mud this week and got real dirty lol. But i checked today and theres dried mud on the bottom of my hood and some of the engine components is it alright to take a hose to it as long as i hold it on one spot for an extended period of time?

Don't wash it when the engine is hot, dont spray any electrical components, especially the PCM!!!!!

I wash my engine compartment regularly with a pressure washer(with low pressure) and I've never had any issues.

after you hose it down, if you can, spray air from a compressor and try to dry it out. water tends to make puddles in a lot of places specially around the throtle body. engine warm is ok in order to apply a degreaser, but not hot.

Unless you want to run the engine while you wash it, don't do it while its hot. Just wait for it to cool off.

ive been wondering this too sometimes. i like to have a clean engine bay, but i remember i did it once and i almost shorted out somethin. cuz my truck died. lol needless to say i was sh--tin kittens at this time, but it works fine just now. im probably gonna try the tire foam trick because there's alot of stuff in there that wont come out with soap and water for some reason....

ok if you have an older vehicle dont use pressure but these newer vehicles all have water tight connectors! when i go play in the mud and wash my engine off, i use the high pressure setting and have been for the last 2 years with out any issues!!! as some of you know i go play in the mud alot and mud gets everywhere! so no it wont destroy your engine, no if your an inch away from your alt with it on high pressure for 5 minutes of course its going to ruin things! but if you use a sweeping motion and high pressure it wont ruin everything! 1
