oh boy

a good deck is the first to start, kenwood makes a damn good unit, then some components for the front and rear door's, as for the mids and highs amp get something after you decide your mids and highs, you base your amps power handeling on your mids and highs handeling, get yourself a good solid 400 watt amp (kicker zx400.1 refurbs are on ebay for 130) then get yourself a dc lvl 2 10" woofer

you will be very happy, and it will give you everything you would want in a decent daily system

Default subs

I have had many different subs and components. The best sub I have ever owned was Diamond Audio. They just came out with a new shallow mount 10". One of the first on the market with this technology. I bought two of those for my '04 Supercrew and its as loud as two 12's I had in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I buddy of mine has the same truck and bought a single Boston 10" sub and that sounds just a good, but not as loud. My first choice would be the Diamonds..

Default Components

As far as the components go I would go after the MB Quarts..You pick which set you want based on price..cant go wrong with any of those sets. The set up I had in my jeep was Diamond Audio CM3D2 two 12's, Mb quart components up front, 5x7 in the back doors, and Viper Audio 1200.1 (made by Directed, DEI) and a 1.0 Farad cap..

Here is couple links to some other good sets I've heard about-

Hope this helps...its all on opinion though I guess

not sure about their subs since I've always used JL audio subs, but kicker makes some nice amps. I put mine thru 3 years of abuse and it never failed me

I bought the box/sub kit from one of the guys on ebay and it wasnt to bad. It sounded nice but bottomed out on heavy base lines. Unfortunately while being parked at the airport valet someone decided to turn up all my base/gain/amp settings and now the sub flat lines on every base line, meaning they blew it. Now I'm in the market to find another shallow sub and being as I have had diamonds in my old ford explorer I might try thier new shallow sub.

Still working on the setup in the truck, but right now I have a eclipse 3200 head unit and rf power series in all four doors. Probably an eclipse amp later to power them. In the HHR I had before I had the rf power series with eclipse amp backed by 3 rf 10" subs powered by a audiobahn 8000t amp. Litteraly shook the roof.
