Not all trucks have the tweeter, I have a loaded to the brim Lariet and mine doesnt have them in it, you can still access the tweeter hole though without taking the door off, the only thing that the door needs to come off for is mirror replacement

Just got all the rears installed and im not exactly sure but the sound is not exactly what i was expecting... Im going to haave to look at some diagrams and see what color the -/+ wires are i assumed brown was ground all around but they dont sound great so im trying to decide if that was wrong or not. As soon as I figure it out ill update everyone on the sound.

Do you have an aftermarket HU, if you dont then you wont notice alot of difference, the stock HUs can only handle so much so upgrading speakers without the HU will result in what you experianed. The HU doesnt have to be great but something like just a Pioneer 1300, 2100 is plenty. Thats what im using and it powers them just fine, then you have to tinker with the adjustments on the radio. I have mine set to loud, base at +4, treble turned up slightly, slightly faded to the front, and the mid is up some as well

Nah i have a Kenwood double Din DVD player. its a 7" touch screen. I just finished the whole install and it sounds great i retract all previous statements about it not sounding great. It lacks a little bit of bass but it is super loud. i had to tniker with the crossover settings and the bass and trebel but it sounds great now. i guess out of the 6x8's im getting good bass but still not enough. by the way i wasnt going for super loud i was going for sound quality and it has both great sound quality and very loud...

What kind of music are you listening to? I've got the green light from my wife, but read one bad review and it has me scared.

I have listened to everything through out today. I listen to mostly rock but even tried some rap today... With my radio on 35 which is max I was listening to red hot chili peppers and the music was loud crisp and clear. I could not leave it there long because it was actually painful but I was testing it and the speakers were not harsh at all. When I tried classic rock it was some guns and roses and same thing it was crisp clear and LOUD. Then onto some rap, it was Ice cube and snoop dog mostly and it played nicely but the x-over needed to be set higher because of the heavy bass. Overall I had a full Bose system in my GMC and this is better. I had a full Polk audio set-up in my Audi and this is right on par with that. I would definitely recommend it to you. The hardest part was taking the doors off and once you do that it was cake to install all components in the front. The back was a little more work because ford didn't use the same panel covers in the back so even though it should take 5 minutes per back door it took about 30 per door and that is fords fault not the speakers. Good luck and happy buying

Nice review. Where did you end up mounting the tweets and x-overs? Did you take the entire front door panel off or just the grilles?

Thumbs up Awesomeness!

I was all ready to install my new components in my 05 SuperCab (hole with no tweeter) and realized I hadn't a clue where I was going to put the crossovers until stumbling across this and seeing how it was done in this instance. I hadn't even thought of tucking it in there where space is plentiful, rather I stared at the back of the door panel trying to figure out where it would fit and be easiest to secure. I ended up putting mine to the front of the speaker opening with the connections facing the opening and just enough room to get a screwdriver on the fasteners if needed without taking it out because the industrial strength Velcro I used it quite difficult to separate. I was then able to run the wire for the tweeter up the door a bit to a small hole that was not being used and everything else is tucked back into the hole. All I had to do to get the tweeters to fit was sand/dremel out the hole to accommodate the awesome mounting brackets Infinity provided. There was only enough wiring for one set to be wired up, not sure what that was all about, but I was able to cut the provided wires in half and then splice the speaker connections off the stock plug adapters on the ends and was good to go. All in all, it took me quite about six hours to do everything needed for front components and rear coaxial speakers to be installed. It went smoother thanks to this post to guide me in removing the door panels in the front to fit the tweeter and in the rear for access to the speaker. I have the stock HU, with no amp and no sub, powering Infinity Reference 6830cs Component and 6832cf Coaxial speakers and the sound is amazing compared (much more low/mid/high and way more crisp sound) to stock and in the end was about $180 shipped to my door for all the speakers and wiring harnesses.
Wish I had pics of the install but I was too busy trying to figure out what I was doing to think about taking progress pics. I will be installing speaker baffles in about a week so I'll have to take some of it back apart and can take some pics then if anyone is interested.
