Is the extractor worn out? After so many (not sure how many) the edges wear on it and it won't bite. Maybe this is happening?

Maybe. Took it to mechanic yesterday morning. They could extract it either. Said I had pushed it down to far and mangled it up, which I figured anyways. They'll have to remove the head and get it out. I just bought the truck...this really sucks

Uh oh. Didn't know you could push it down too far. From the cut always I've seen it looked like it couldn't go too far into the combustion chamber.

Ya well...my frustration and taking it out on that poor little plug just cost me a grand.

Depending on your miles and other issues have you thought about having them take care of the timing issues while its open?

Ya if told hem to check it al out while they're in there. Timing chain guides were broken. I was getting a misfire so hopefully that is handled I. All of this. I'm looking at getting a new head from oreilys. Brand new $500, 3 yr warranty, ford cast numbers. All that. Ford wants 1200 from dealer.
