Default sound system

hey i got an 07 XLT. i have the 6cd MP3 head unit in my truck and i love it. the speakers on the other hand suck. if i got a good set of speakers would the head unit have enough power to make them sound good? or is there a device to make it more powerfull?

Not knowing if there's a difference in your head unit and mine (and going off of what I know from my old stock head unit), I would say it's more the head unit making crappy sound vice your speakers.

Do you have a sub and seperate fronts in yours? Or no?

If not..........I would replace BOTH the head unit and speakers.

The stock units cut out highs when lows are playing; and vice versa. It's not the speakers doing that............

BUT.....to just answer your question; yes. There is a device to make your speakers more powerful...........it's called an amp.........

Is that the OEM head unit that you are referring to and the OEM door speakers? If I remember correctly that unit is only pushing out about 35w or so.... Upgrade your complete system.. You'll be happy

35 watts is a little optimistic for any head unit. If you like ur current head unit, I'd recommend adding an amplifier to new door speakers. Matter of fact, I'd recommend amping new door speakers regardless.

New anything will make a difference. The more you add or change the better it will be.

The OEM speakers really arnt that bad on these trucks, its the head units that are garbage. Ditch your head unit and get a new one, I got a Pioneer 2300 series at first and it was like night and day, since ive upgraded to 350 watt speakers and it made some difference but not as much as the head unit did. I thought about adding a amp to it to keep the power up but at moderate sound levels my system does fairly good. Everything you need can be bought at WalMart too. Head unit was 135 and the mounting kit was 15 and the wiring harness was 20 bucks. Took about 10 minutes to wire the new harness and another 10 to get the old unit out and the new one installed and programed
