Default Somebody help me please....

I ordered tires and wheels from tirerack.com yesterday and was told that the wheels i ordered (Dale Jr. Cannon's 17x8.5) would rub my fenders. The guy said that there is a 15mm offset on the wheels and he said if I had a leveling kit on the front everything would be ok.
Here is what i dont understand....my stock wheels are 17x8 my new ones are 17x8.5....the stock tires are 265x65x17 the new ones are 265x70x17....How in theF**K are they gunna rub. I have about 5inches of clearance between the fender and tire all the way around. Does this guy know what he's talkin about ??????

What about the rims? Do they "push" the tire out more than the stock rims? You did say there's a 15mm offset in the wheels (rims) on the new ones. Don't know if this is significant enough to make the combo rub, but I'm with you; I'd have to know before I buy....

This is one reason I'm a bit gun shy on ordering rims/tire combos from a site. Yes, there are great deals out there, but once they show up at the local tire dealer ot your place, they are yours. The hassle of returning them due to non fitment is at your cost.

See if you can go to a tire store locally, and explain this to them. Get their opinion. They may not want to waste time with that however, seeing as how they are dot getting the deal. Some however are very helpful, and will go out of their way to get your business next time.

From what the guy said a 15mm offset will push the wheel out away from the truck... 15mm is only about 1/2inch though.

If you like the tires and rims who cares. A leveling kit is not that expensive and they are not the hardest thing to install.

is it a + or - 15mm offset? a negative offset will push the tire out more and a + offset will push it in more.

You ought to be able to run those tires easily. The stock wheel's are 7 1/2 inches wide with 5 1/2 inches of BS. Your wheel's will stick out 1 inch more than stock if you have 5 1/2 inches of BS. I'd say those tires will fit easily, especially if you have a 4x4.

Yeah...I think so too. I talked to a few other people and they all said the same thing. I called tire rack and told them to ship them, so we'll see how they work.
