yea i thought about the edge..a simple upgrade & affordable..but will the edge have any affect on my vehicles warrenty?

Mine is an 08 with 11000 miles and i am not worried about it. I had a superchip flashpaq on my 05 and had to have the transmission replaced twice and they never gave me grief about having a tuner in my truck.

My thoughts are this...By law, no, it will not void your warranty as long as you dont exceed the factory parameters (I.E. Raising the rev limiter, raising the speed limiter)
Also, i always returned mine to stock and take it out before taking it in...Takes all of 2 min to do it with the edge.

All tuners leave a "Foot Print" (it only shows the computer has been "flashed recently") but unless the dealer can prove the tuner caused the problem, it will NOT void the warranty...which brings me back to the factory specs, dont raise the speed limiter, dont raise the rev limiter etc...leave the default settings as is, dont mess with the "create a custom program" that the edge gives you the option for, that is for more advanced users, believe me, the stock settings the edge comes with it plenty of punch for what you want. (if you have bigger tires, then get in there and change that, but i would not mess with anything else)

I went with the JLT package found here.

The reason that I did not do an Edge was that the dealer told me that the SCT's would give me better performance and I could leave it tuned when I bring it in. IF they needed to hook up to the OBD2 then it would wipe it clean, but there is definitely NO warranty issue there. I have an 08 with 7200 miles on it. It has not come in yet, so I can not comment on the performance package gains; however, I have seen it locally which was why I bought the intake! Sounds awesome and he said it gave him lots more HP and @ 2 mpg more.

That JLT package looks like a good buy...comes with the tuner & the intake. I like the looks of that JLT intake as well...sits right on top insted of the traditional side mount intake. Might look into that. On the other hand I do like how he EDGE fits perfectly onto the left side of steering wheel console. Currently I just have a K&N drop in air filter. How hard was the install of the JLT intake???

Intake is fairly easy to install with a few tool and common sense...However, with a CAI, you will need a custom tune for it. The SCT Xcal capable of custom tunes, but you would still need to purchase the custom tune from what i can tell as they are only giving you the canned tunes.

No canned tuners......get the Gryphon from PHP if you want the Edge platform.
