Default simple 4.6 sparkplug question

Im sorry for starting another sparkplug thread but honestly, Ive been searching and havent found a definate answer.
Is the 4.6 in my 06 F150 a 2V or a 3V?
I know this sounds remedial and I thought my truck had the 3V until today when I went to buy plugs and the only plugs I could find for it were for the 2V version. I bought a set of Motorcraft plugs (SP493) and was pleasantly surprised that they were super cheap compared to what I thought they would be. When I looked at them, they didnt have the long shoulder I was expecting to see. I questioned the parts guy and he said the 06 trucks had the 2V 4.6. I didnt believe him and went to a couple of other places and got the same story.
My next question is if I have the 2V, do I need to be concerned about the plugs blowing out like on the earlier models?
Sorry for the stupid question but most of the threads concerning plugs is either specifically about the 5.4 and doesnt say anything specific about the 4.6.

IIRC only the 5.4 was 3v, but I could definitely be wrong... but I do know Ford claims to have solved the spark plug blowout issues in 2003 with a better head design.

no you dont have the 3v 4.6. it wasnt introduced to trucks till 2009. and yes the 4.6 2v plugs are fairly cheap. i think i saw auto zone had motorcraft for around 3 dollars a plug.

Good deal. I feel much better about the plug change now. I paid 3.49/plug at AZ. I was expecting around 18.00/plug and have done alot of reading about plug changes in the 3V and planning on breaking a couple of plugs. I dont know where I got the idea the F150 4.6 is a 3V but Im pretty relieved that its not.

2v is rock solid reliable. not saying the 3v isnt, but im have faith ill drive my 2v for quite a while. the 3v has been used in mustangs for a while, and theyre proven to be pretty good.

Just bought these at Ford, and I saw your post so I decided to call Autozone and turns out they do carry the Motorcraft plugs at about half the price of the stealership. Thanks
