08 4.6s have a 17hp bump over the 07 and older ones.

I am still puzzled in figuring out what they did to get that bump in horsepower for the 08' models. Bet they just bumped it up on paper and did nothing mechanically LOL

Why would someone get a 4.6 and soupit up when youcould do the same with a 5.4 also making a 4.6 to the point of a 5.4 why not just get the 5.4? More issues too by screwing with the 4.6

The good news is that the 4.6L and 5.4L owners seem to respectively like their powerplants. I've had the 5.4L in both F-150s, as this is my 2nd Ford truck and I roll 35s with stock gearing and plenty of power on tap.

I think you'll be good either way, but thete's no clear-cut superior choice; depends on use.

Who ever says the 4.6 has as much power dont no what there talking about. 4.6 get up and go but they dont have ump. And why would you buy a 4 6 and put all the upgrades on it when you could buy the 5.4 put more upgrades and make it mean.

Ford should have done better. In 2008 Dodge managed to bump their 4.7 up from 235 HP to 310 and 295 lb-ft to 330.

I like my 4.6. It's slow as hell but if I want to go fast I'll hop on my motorcycle. Not nearly as many things to go wrong on the 4.6 as the 5.4.

I think the intake tube and TB is different. Plus the MAF was revised too and I have heard it has a different exhaust.

Or it was all lies and they just tuned it a little.

IMO, if you don't go with the 5.4, you might always be bothered you didn't. You'll then start seeing them everywhere, next to you at the traffic light, parked across from you, etc., etc., etc.

Years ago, I bought the V6 Mustang, and regretted it for years thinking, "Crap, should have saved and pitched out for the 5.0" (this was back in '94).
