Default In the shop

I just had my truck (2005 Screw with 123,000 miles) in the shop for a few issues and I thought I'd share the symptoms and findings:

1) Intermittent ABS light. The wire from the sensor on the rear diff had chaffed and was shorting out in a couple spots.
2) Shudder when turning and starting from a full stop. Changed rear diff fluid (has not eliminated the shudder entirely, but is much better).
3) FWD not engaging. Thanks to this forum I knew this was an electrical issue as the 4WD light would not came on when the switch was activated, but it would during ignition. I changed the dash switch, solenoid behind the battery, and the transfer case motor myself to no avail. The shop spent hours trying to find the issue and it turns out the CPU is fried. Fortunately I went to a reputable Indy and they managed to find a used one which they flashed to my truck. All in this fix was $400, compared to $1300 for the part alone from Ford.
I hope this helps someone who is experiencing these symptoms.

For 2 you might need new clutch packs in your rear axle.
