Default Shock questions

I've noticed its starting to feel like my shocks are going out, and i was wondering if you have to replace shocks after a certain amount of time? Also, any suggestions on shocks alone that could help lift my truck a little without buying an entire "lift kit"? Just wanna know what people think

From my experience Bilstiens are the best, great quality, ride, and durability. The 5100's seem to be great from what I hear but are expensive. I have only use the 4600's and they are great.

Do they provide any lift or do they sit same as stock? And how much is it about?

Shocks cannot provide lift, they just make your ride smoother or rougher. You will need to add to your springs, either though spacers or new springs to get lift.

You can put blocks on the rear or a add a leaf, or even save up for a 6" lift

I would go with a good quality suspension lift in the 6" range. If you can find a kit the closely resembles your stock spring rate you will be much happier. I would also look for a good shock. Everyone seems to like the bilsteans.
