Default Shifter sticks

My shifter thang thang on my 07 lariat sticks and won't come out of park sometimes... I researched and I think it is a solenoid problem but what do y'all think?

Its the safety break interlock, check your manual in there it will tell you how to bypass it to get you to the shop to fix it. I think its just a small slot screwdriver shoved in an access hole to allow it to move

It isn't permanently stuck I've been driving it for about a month and can eventually get into gear I just haven't had time to fix it. Can I do it myself?

not sure on the difficulty, mine acted up once or twice over the past 3 years but like you if seemed to go after a while, but i do carry a small slot screwdriver in my console. i have the console shift being a fx4 and i can hear the solenoid clicking when i touch the breaks and it sounds good and firm so i haven't had to change it out, but if it happens again i think it will be going in for a re-re
