whats your edge have to do with drifting? Doubt you have anything but canned tunes in there anyway. People drift all the time and as with anything else, if done excessively over time, ya, you will incur damage.

whats my edge have to do with drifting. what i am asking is the extra power and firmer shifting (from the edge) going to hurt my tranny more so than doing the same thing without it the programmer

i dont think a firmer shift point or a mod to increase a few horses will damage your engine during drifting. conduct some testing by decreasing your firmness and mildly advance your timing. Or, keep everything the same and set your power levels on 2 or 3

I dont think it will hurt it more. I have always been told firmer shifts are better for the tranny anyway. I have the same setup (34s + an Edge etc). I dont drift, or so much sliding around in it, cause' like some others said eventually things are going to break. More then the Edge, id be worried about the large tire combo, and strain on the transmission with the constant on and off the throttle so hard; programmer or not.
