Default Shaking when braking

I have check the front rotors for run out, and they are good. I just replaced the rear rotors with Power stops.
The shaking isn't there all the time and the petal doesn't pulse back. It seems that higher speeds seems to be worse till the speed comes down

Could bad ball joints cause this?

When was the last time you replaced your brake fluid? Brake fluid is hygroscopic meaning it absorbs water over time and it wears out causing a spongy pedal among other issues. Drain and replace it, start with that otherwise I would be inclined to say that one caliper may not be floating like it is supposed to, which can be checked easily as well.

I have done 100's of brake jobs on these. You can check the run out and some how, no idea, the planets don't align right I guess, the rotors will still pulse under braking. When you did the rotors did you reuse the old pads?

I'm having the same issue when braking over speeds of 50mph. I was wondering if this is an emergency get-this-fixed-now job or I could put it off until I recover from tax season... ;'(

In my professional opinion, the brakes are what take you from 70 to 0. Should never wait to repair brakes.

Default shaking while braking

I have dealt with this problem in the past and it wound up being caused by a front wheel bearing that needed to be replaced. Something to check.

i would guess that there is a lot that could cause it if it isn't specifically the brake componets themselves... ball joints, wheel bearings, control arm bushings,...

I have has the same problem, checked the rotors and all seemed fine. I ended up living with it for a while then changed the rotors when I upgraded the brakes and the problem went away.

I know better than that. Brand new set of Wagner Thermoquiets and new caliper went on the rear (cheap plastic piston)

Well I replace the front rotors and pads this weekend. After pulling the rotors I could see my problem. On the back side of both rotors in the side closest to the hub had a rust lip/ bubble on it. The rust bubble only went half way around the rotor.

Turning the rotor in the spot probably would have fixed them. I already had Power stop rotors and pads I found on ebay for $110 delivered. So the local can man got them
