Default Shakes when braking

Okay time to find out what may be going on...I have an 06 F150XL only 23,000mi. It's all stock, I want to put either a 2 1/2" or 3" level kit, although I don't know which one yet. This is besides the point before I do this I have to find out why when braking my truck violently shakes, when braking from high speeds it's worse but still does it at slow speeds. it has progressively gotten worse. I think maybe the rotors need turned, or would the balancing cause this shake, also if the rotors need turning with this few miles, in your opinions would it possibly be covered under warranty, Still a newb only second post other than greeting so I hope I gave enough info with my issue, thanks to any and all help...

This sounds like your rotors are warped. Turning them will only do a temp job. You should replace them with a high quality replacement, such as wagner, stuff that is made in the usa. Stay away from that store brand junk. If you do alot of city driving, replace the rotors.

it does sound like a brake pulsation milage is not really a factor for this concern one of the major causes for brake pulsation is not torquing your wheels to the right spec uneven tighting of the wheel is usually the cause not always... as far as warranty looks like your in warranty by milage but you would need to check the production date (the in service date) the dealer can help u with that by running your vin #..3 yr 36000 not covered by xtended warranty

Does sound like warped rotors. I put powerslots with hawk pads on my f250 and they were cheaper than factory fords. They even make em cryo frozen now if you are really hauling heavy or driving aggesively. That combo was great. Check em out if you have to replace them and ford won't warrant them.

I agree the rotors are shot but on a whim it could be some suspension components. Before you take off the front wheel while it's jacked up try an "shake" the wheel. Make sure there is no play left-right or up-down.

Rotors - last set of Ford rotors I turned to fix this problem (at 32,000 miles) went on to live a long life with no return of warpage.

Thanks fer all the replies I'll work on it this weekend...I'm ***-u-me-ing there is no way to tell which is warped so all are going to be done...now the leveling kit, I've read through hundreds of post and opinion of manufacturer is based on individuals...there is a big variance of pricing from 60 to 70.00 to a few hundred, should I pay a higher price to ensure better quality??? My bike takes alot to maintain so not a lot left over ya know lol, but don't want to skimp on quality fer the front end of me truck, thanks again. {:~)

Leveling kits are pretty much all the same.
