Default shake

Do these trucks have any issues that would cause the same symptom as warped rotors (wheel shake when brake is applied)
I developed a wheel shake that I naturally assumed was warped rotors, since I have had to make that repair (turn rotors) on many different vehicles.
I removed my rotors and took it to a experienced brake specialist and he turned them. (said there was plenty of material) I installed them and all seemed fine (I took it easy on them) for the first couple hundred miles. Now they are doing the same thing.
The only confusing issue is if I "ease" into the brake at hwy sppeds, there is no issue, if I hit them, release, and ease back into them, no issue, but if I have to lay on them harder, I get the shake. No "warped feel" at all at low speeds and easing to a stop
Any thing else to chase?

Might be loose caliper brackets or one caliper is biting harder then the other.. Try giving the whole caliper assembly a good shake by hand and see if there is any play..

i had the exact same problem you described on my 04. I did a full break job, pulled calipers, but new pads all the way around, took my rotors in, had them turned, guy said I had plenty of rotor left. But after about 500 miles I had the same problem. I have a new set of rotors, front and rear, going on as soon as I get a decent warm day on a free weekend.

Pretty sure if you toss on a new set of rotors and pads your problem will go away...

I am having the same issue, however I feel that it is from the back breaks now since I no longer feel it in the steering wheel.

Had the shake, replaced front rotors shake went away, now its back but I think its the rears causing the problem. I hate to throw another $100 at the truck if the problem will just persist.

Hydraulic (brake or gear) fluid on the pads will feel like a warped rotor in some cases. Make sure you don't have a brake or axle seal leak.

I experienced something like this one time and it ended up being caused by a seized caliper slide pin. Once I got some new pads and some good caliper grease on all 4 up front the issue went away.

I had a similar issue. Both front calipers had a busted piston. Changed all four rotors, new pads and two front calipers. Busted pistons may not be your problem but it's worth taking a close look.

Thanks guys
I guess the fact that it did well for several hundred miles (like some of yours did) makes me want to rule out the pins or busted pistons. I checked everything out for leaks, etc. when I had it off, and it looked fine.
Wondered if there were any issues with the ABS system or something.
