H i have an sct x2 left from when i sold my 07 GT, it had a bama tunes tune on it,

Question is, can I use it on my truck?

When I go yo program vehicle > install tune it gives me 2 options sct file 1 and 87 perf, are these left over from the mustang?

I have a 05 FX4 with the 5.4L 3V

Sct1 is the custom tune you CAN NOT use. You can run the 87 performance tune, maybe.. You should really hook up to the SCT software and update the programer to delete the stang tunes. They are useless to you and taking up the tow tune space. The tow tune is the best tune IMHO on that programer. I had the SCT xcal 2 SF. I'm running an edge CS custom tuned now.

If thats the case i may just sell it with the intake thats matched to the tune, and buy edge or whatever the most popular one with the screen and be able to change tunes on the fly lol

When funds allow me lol

Unfortunately, the CS and CTS are no longer custom tune able due to discrepancies with PHP and edge.. PHP is the only tuner allowed to tune the edge. So your SCT is still very usable and custom tune-able. If I was you I would just update it and keep it..

Also, you can't change tunes on the fly with either tuner.

It depends, is it unlocked from your mustang is first question. If it is and you have the x2 9400 which is custom tunes only, then yes you can use it in your truck but only with a custom tune specific to your truck. If its the 9415 model, then it prob has a preloaded tune for your truck. In all honesty though, the preloaded tunes on the x2 sucked and not even close to the preloadeds available on the sf3. If its unlocked, best bet is a custom tune for the truck specific and use the x2 to upload to the truck.

If by unlocked you mean, "returned to stock" the 07 GT before i sold it, yes, because I took all aftermarket parts off the car lol

Unlocked means you did program vehicle restore to stock option. If you can't remember, power the tuner up, go to device info, and hit select twice. Should say either aftermarket, stock or unused. Which does it say?
