Default Scratches on windshield

Hey I have a 2004 f150 xlt and when the sun hits the window I see all the scratches and It really bothers me, when the sun doesn't hit it i don't see it but when I drive I see all of it so I'm not sure if it's just the crystals in the class or actual scratches, so my question is if there is a way to remove the scratches?? Thanks

there is a way you can buff the glass out and remove them...may just be easier to have a windshield put in

Your insurance will cover the cost of a new windshield, however depending on your deductible, you may want to just pay for it out of pocket. On our trucks, the factory windshield is in the $400-600 range and the non-OEM version is around $200-300 if I remember correctly. The only difference in the non-OEM is that it does not have the "F-150" in the top frit band; the quality of the glass is identical.

How do I know this you might wonder? I used to work for Safelite Auto Glass as a Repair Technician. I only fixed chipped windshields but I used to get a lot of calls on our trucks. The majority of the time they were too far damaged to fix so I would have to set up a replacement appointment. This is how I learned the prices on our windshields.

Insurance covers broken and cracked windshields, not "scratched" windshields.

If the glass is so bad that it obstructs the drivers view it can be replaced.. no fraud needed.. looks like somebody ran the wipers down to bare metal..

Nobody ever did answer the OP's question. Anyone know of a good product to polish glass? My windshields is in pretty good shape, but I wouldn't mind buffing it out if there's a way to do it.
