Scratches on windshield

seems like there is a lot of pastes and compounds for it on line but I have no idea how well they work. might be like when you wax your truck and it only hides the scratches till the next rain or two then they are back

Yea I bought the truck used last November, so a year ago In a few weeks and that's how it came and it's been bothering me ever since and in December I'm driving 15 hours straight and I dint want to see all those scratches when the sun hits it

There's nothing that can be done to remove these surface scratches and pitting from your windshield. Any polishing or buffing practices run a risk of either breaking or causing distortions in the glass, so no facility will be willing to attempt it. I'm a certified installation technician with SafeLite, and as the other person who used to work with us stated before, you'll need to replace the windshield at this point. Personally, I like OEM Carlite glass for Ford vehicles, but if that's out of your price range, just opt for aftermarket. And if your insurance company covers glass replacement, you don't need to stage a break in the windshield to make it look real. They don't send people out to check if it's really broken or not. And we don't care either, so long as we get paid by the insurance companies. Haha.
