If you buy that edge and have a CAI your truck will run lean. I have called edge on this twice and they said the evolution is not made for CAI. The cs is programmed for having a CAI. just some food for thought.

The evo won't be able to have a canned tune to adjust the lean issue with cai. But the cs and cts can. But as one stated earlier php, will no longer offer custom tunes to new customers for those models. Your best bet is to get the evo and if already have a cai, then you'll just have to run a lil lean until you get a custom tune from php to fix that.

The lean issues are tied to 04/05 models... I believe it was corrected in 06.

Lucky for me, I don't plan on getting a CAI. If anything I might do the Gott's mod, but other than that I only plan on exhaust and a leveling kit.

could be my imagination but I feel that the trick drives better with the CS than the standard edge. I picked up the regular edge evo on the forum for 250 a while back then saw an ad for a cs for 250 so I jumped on it. sold the old one and broke even.

I will say that the older Evo had a more accurate average mpg than the Cs. the old one was about 1.5 mpg higher than actual mpg ands the CS is about 6 mpg higher. but like I said I think the truck drives better with the vs pretty programming

Just my opinion, but I believe two things one or the other or both combined. First, they were probably jacking with the shift points and really screwed it up, but of course it is the Edge programmers fault......lol. Secondly, you may already have an existing tranny problem and the edge just magnified it is all and made it noticeable.

I daily drove a 88 Grand Wagoneer for several years and had the tranny rebuilt with a shift kit because the guy at the shop told me the firmer shift was better for the tranny. I got used to the super firm shift and it was weird to me when I bought my XLT and the shift was barely noticeable.

with the edge shift firmness settings is there a point that is too firm? I currently have my. setting set to 20. I like the very noticeable shift points now but am.worried if.I go too high will it damage my tranny?

Well shoot, the tuner was already sold and the guy had left the ad up. I'll probably purchase my level or exhaust first, then get a tuner. What's yall's opinion on the Evolution vs CS?
