Default Sad day....

Well the time has come to trade in my trusty '05 XLT. I didn't think I would be too sad about it but after spending the past two hours putting it back to stockish I'm really going to miss it.

Any of you guys or gals have a truck or car that was hard to see go?

my first car. 1997 mitsubishi mirage, ls coupe. got it when i was 16, drove it till this year (im 27 lol) had a hole rusted in the frame near the rear suspension about fist sized, so it wouldnt pass inspection. kelley blue book value is only like $500 so im just gonna take all the audio parts, put em in my truck, and scrap the car. Junkyard will give me bout $350 for it and pick it up.

retired with 227k+ miles on it. at one point i was putting over 800 miles a week on it (driving from va to nc)

it went out with a bang though. on my last trip home from va to nc, i average 45 mpg.
Rest In Peace Rumble Bee

It was difficult cleaning out and changing minor odds and ends on my 2004 SuperDuty. Still not happy about trading it in but I was between a rock and a hard spot with it. I think the hardest part is thinking that whoever owns it now won't appreciate and has no idea how much work I put into it from gauges, engine work, gearing/F-450 axle swap and all the small things like the SCT, upfitter switches, high beam+fog light and hidden high idle.

Love my 150 but it can never compare to 850+ft/lbs of torque.

This is why I still haven't been able to pull the trigger on any other rig haha. What are you getting? Best of luck!

I'm making the jump to a 2011 XLT which I'm happy about. I live in RI and bought the truck in MA last Saturday and bc of some RI laws I wasn't able to drive the new truck away when I bought it. So I've been in my '05 for four days. Talk about SLOWLY pulling the band aid off.

I had a 2004 SVT Focus that I traded for the truck I have now. I bought it with 7 miles on the car. In the life of the car it was procharged supercharged, nitrous, lowered (then raised), among many other things. It had seen many places including long road trips from TN to south florida or to Chicago. However, at the end it had a little over 160k miles and it was time. What made it worse was I drove to MO from TN to pickup my truck and yeah one last road trip with the old man. It was hard but I love my truck.

I talk to my Betsy every day. She takes care of me so I like to take care of her. I don't think I'll ever be able to leave her. Thought about it...I'll probably put a new motor, trans an whatever else I need to before I can let go. It's corny but that line in transformers says it best ..."it's a mystical bond between man and machine".
