Default S&b Cai

I've been all over various searches looking for people that are running the S&B. I've seen a few people saying good things, but I'm looking for more details. I like the looks and I'm thinking about picking one up, but don't want the hassle or expense of having my brand new truck tuned. Has anyone run into lean conditions with this intake? Any other issues? What kind of power increase have you seen? Thanks in advance.

I had the S&B on my '06 5.4 and a catback exhaust. It's hard to tell what increase if any. With louder exhaust it's just harder to tell. I have put the S&B from the '06 on my '05 but I have only gone around the block and haven't had a chance to really run it. I never had any problems with my '06 and haven't had any codes on the '05 yet. Hope this helps.

It definitely does. I'm mainly concerned about any lean issues or trouble codes. You'll have to let me know if you feel any SOTP difference. Thanks.

I have the Air Force 1 on my truck and love it. It comes in tow different versions, the 3" & 3.5" tube. Difference is with the 3" tube you don't need custom tuning while the 3.5" tube requires custom tuning. I had the AF1 on there prior to any tuning and never had any lean conditions or codes at all. As soon as I put it on the truck I could instantly feel a difference in throttle response. I know you asked about the S&B, but just thought I'd throw another option your way.

Thanks. I looked at the AF1, but I don't like the chrome metal tube or open element filter. I'm familiar with Troyer Performance as well. They tuned my 2000 Lightning. They have great products.
