Has anyone had to replace the bed cross members on an 04 f150 short bed. Mine are rotting out badly.

The only part of my underbody that’s rusty, for the most part, are the cross members, but not rotted. Later this spring I’ll hit them with Ospho, primer and paint to preserve them. Replacement would involved removing and inverting the bed, cutting them out and welding in some square stock or angled iron (street sign post would probably be perfect).
