Default Rust Spots. Help!!

I just noticed on my 2004 F150 I have some rust spots on the roof. One is about 2" round and two that are 1/2" round. So I guess I'm asking for help on this. I know its probably been discussed before, but some help would be nice....

Clean and treat then hit it with some color match touch-up

Body Shop, you may have more issues than what you can see.

I would get an opinion there first.

Give me alittle more info please! I want to do this myself, I'm pretty handy with tools!
I know I have to grind on it alittle to see how far it goes...I'm kind of worried about the big one...

I had rust on my underbody, POR15 worked on it. For the body (your roof), you would need to grind the rust off(I assume there is no hole and just a spot), and then prime/paint. Try looking on youTube for videos.

It's just the color match, if it's on the roof you may not care/notice that is looks perfect. Usually it's recommended to paint the whole panel so it matches well.

nothing to worry about...it needs removed either way or eventually you will have a hole in your roof...sand off the corrosion...treat with Por or another rust inhibitor..Loctite makes some also found at Home Depot...prime and paint

Use a rust converter, do not use a rust sealer. Depending on their visibility, ie on top where you can only see from above, I would suggest wire brush and sand to smooth some. treat the rust and paint. If it is visible you will want to do much more, starting with the same clean and treat, smooth/grind and apply body filler, paint and clearcoat. Understand the paint and clear coat for a visible area will mean fading the paint to the surrounding area, which means scuffing the clear coat all the way to the body lines or other break points (doors seams, winsheild, etc) and then paint and clear coat all. If the area to be worked (clear coat scuff, paint fade, etc) is much more then 1sqaure foot you will find it very difficult to do at home with out serious spray equipment and a paint both.
