Default rust help!

This is on the very bottom of my cab corner passenger side. I took it to a body shop and they want $560 but they want to cut out way more than I believe they need too Plus they we're pretty rude too so it sounds like to me they are trying to get money put of me. My question is should I nip this in the butt now or should I just wait till it gets worse then replace it? Also should I be paying less than $560. Thanks and I live in Kansas if that makes a difference

Well would I just have to sand it down? To me personally I'm not an expert on this type of thing. but it's not even rusted through can I just sand the rust off and repaint?

No, rust on cab corners starts from the inside. The effected part needs cut out and a new panel welded in.

Ok is that something I can wait on then since I'm going to replace it can I just let it rust out and just save up a bit here and there or should I get it done as soon as possible?

well. I'd do it so the truck doesn't look like crap. Or so it doesn't spread to the rocker panel. But it's your choice

I would get it done too before it gets worse because it will only get worse and will still be there in a year or two. Like said earlier it is rusting from the inside out and sanding it and repainting is not going to do anything. They need to cut out the rust and replace the metal. If you search on the forum you will see that $560 really isn't a bad price for the work they are going to do if it is both sides. If one side is rusting the other side is most likely too.
