Rust

On my 04 screw I have surface rust on the rear fenders I was wondering what's the best way to prep it for paint

sand it and prime with zinc rich primer...no way to completely kill the rust...it's probably coming through from the other side. Throw some fender flares on it and it should be good for another couple years

I just sanded the inside of the fender and put sprayed bed liner in there yesterday looks way better now I'm trying to get the out side of the fender done before I get my flares

Cut the pieces right out and weld in new metal.

After the cab corner repair you did, and this your truck will look good for maybe a year then its going to cost more to fix it right. I would say cut out put in new metal.

I also agree in cutting it out and welding in new metal. Don't just cover it with flares

I'm in the same boat with my rockers, gonna get them cleaned off, POR-15 and then bedliner coating. Only real way to do it is cut it out and weld in new pieces, but this may give me a couple years.
