Have an issue with my 2008 F150 Lariat I’ve been having it for a month now. The inside lights don’t work. The dash board lights up but the over head lights don’t. However, I unhooked the battery one day and when I reconnected it one of the running lights came on then went off again and won’t come on. What could be the cause of this?

 

make sure you don't just have the dimmer switch rolled all the way down?
check the fuses?

 

Might be just a burnt out bulb for the dome light?
You had the lights on when you disconnected and reconnected the battery?
Look at the headlight switch, Its possibly faulty IMO

 

the dimmer also dims the dash lights. I agree with fuses and bulb check.

 

If you are a rust belt vehicle you might want to take a look and see if the associated ground (G303) located behind the kick panel by the parking brake is rusted away. It affects many light circuits and could possibly be your issue.
