Default Rotors

Hey everyone I have an 06 4x4 f150 with 30k, and i have been thru 3 sets of stock rotors, my pads r fine but still replace them with the rotors. My problem is my rotors warp and when i brake over 50mph my steering wheel vibrates and i can feel the truck jerking, Does anyone else have this problem and if so what rotors shud I buy to fix it, this is pissing me off. PS its not me this is my 4th ford truck and have never had brake problems. plus the truck was my fathers first and he had the same proplem. any help wud be great.
Thanks Bruce

What kinda driving do you mostly do? Heavy towing? If you rotors are warped, you pads usually are scalloped and junk too, regardless of thinkness, unless they are perfectly flat. Are you breaking in the new rotors? I would get a new set of rotors and pads, break them in to manufacturer spec and i am sure you will be fine. To me it sounds like your pads are the issue now, once you warp the rotors, it destroys the pads. good rule of thumb is to replace both rotor and pad at the same time.

no i don't do much towing or hauling. And i do try to brake them in (maybe i shud be better with that) and i do replace the pads with the rotors, could it be something else causing the vibration?

Are the warped rotors the front or rear, or all 4?

Are you driving through water quite a bit?

This is certainly not normal at all.

if it only does it when you brake, that narrows it down, ya know. i agree with bucko, that is not normal at all. most guys complain about the excessive break dust and low pad life, but not warping rotors constantly. what brand/type of rotors/pads are you replacing them with?

the oem ones work fine for me and my truck has had zero braking issues and i am running 35's, however with the price of oem rotors, you can probably get a really good aftermarket one. good brakes are not cheap, i just wonder why you have such issues with them.

if it was me, i would actually take it to a ford garage and have them do the work, then if they warp again, you can take it back and say what the hell ya know
