From my basic understanding, drilled/holes were used when the binding compounds created excessive dust and gas, while today’s pads create much less dust and gas and do not need holes. The same goes for slots.

Further, holes/slots remove mass from the rotor, which decreases their heat capacity, so the get hotter faster. Also, these features increase pad wear. Also, they cost more.

In the end, unless you have a specialized application, we are better off with plain-faced rotors.

I'm not saying you're wrong but Powerstop sells the cross drilled and slotted as the "upgraded" package.

Based on what you stated I checked the brake rotors on my hellcat redeye(it has 6 piston brembos up front). You are correct they are not drilled or slotted so maybe you have a point.

Ha! I’m just repeating “something I saw on the internet.” I can’t claim to have any first-hand experience here. Even so, I think Engineering Explained is pretty credible.
