Why are you reving a cold engine? As for greasing the muffler im not sure but if you go on Ebay im sure someone sells a tool for that.Bubbabud.

I would check it out. Maybe get up under there with a rubber mallet and hit around on the exhaust, while the truck is off of course. See what you find. Never know.

Well now that I think about it. Does the noise go away when it gets warm? If that's the case then I couldn't see the rattle from the rock(s) go away unless the hot metal expands and creates a smaller gap for debris to move around, but that's a long shot.

Im not reving it in park it's when I hit the gas and it revs on its own

Reving on it's own...

happens to me all the time too when I get my gas pedal....

On a serious note you have a broken baffle in the muffler that is why when it is up to temp u don't hear it the metal has a chance to expand and keep it in place....it is annoying but will not do any harm... And for some of jokes that just ain't right
