Require final disposition update?
As Jimboy just yesterday pointed out: “Many, many of the posts in this forum (and others) are open ended. Problem stated, solutions suggested but no closure. Please post feedback that allows future readers to understand and consider your experience with the issue. Thanks.”
What do you all think about blocking any future posting when final disposition of a post is not reported.
It would take a lot more thought and effort to do that, but thought it might be worthwhile to see what you all think about this, or another similar idea.
Thanks.

While some posts might be deserving of this closure (e.g., Which fuse is for the HVAC blower on my '21 F150 Platinum?), many are not. In plenty of situations, the conversation continues when new situations or changes occur. I'd hate to "lock out" something and make it appear to be "the" definitive answer. Do that and someone may very well follow OLD advice when NEW advice is out there, albeit in a different thread.
Just my $0.02.

Here are how forums work:
Help, I need real mechanic help to fix a problem causing my truck literally not to work.
A few useful and problem solving suggestions with no follow up because OP needed an answer to a question to fix a real mechanical issue. Answer was given, OP was smart enough to fix it and has no reason to use a forum as a social outlet
What is the biggest tire I can cram into the truck but don't tell me I have to cut something.
85 posts later there are 3 sizes listed that fit, several tires that fit only on lifted trucks and a few stating there is not need to change from stock size
What oil (anything).....
A means for everybody to pull out their oil diploma and educate the person above them why they are wrong until we have about 150 arguments finally closing a thread.
Has anybody used a catchcan
Anybody who has or has not will treat it like an oil thread until closed down.
Sooooo, if a person has a legit question, it will be answer and OP moves on to avoid the social discussions that are not necessary. Anybody else asks dumb questions that don't even need a resolution -those should all be blocked because there can never be an answer to "my screen shut off earlier today but has be fine since, what do I do to fix this issue". When not blocked or closed, in 30 months a new person will say "did you ever fix this issue, my screen flicked in the McDonalds drive-thru today"

I got a chuckle out of reading this, and I think it well characterizes many useless posts.
Bottom line, are you just making some good points, or is there a hint that some change would be beneficial. Just curious.

If you made it so a person had to be a member for 24 hours before they’re allowed to post that could help with the opened ended single posts. People can be lazy and want what they want right now.
I don't know though because that could discourage people from posting to begin with. We all want for folks to tell us the final disposition when we've spent time giving them input. But all we can do now is ask.
