Replacing speakers.
Yupp, Everyone is spot on. 6x8 but only the rear door panels need taken off.....
Be careful though, The wires on the rear speaker should be fastened down. I didnt, and my window going down knocked the wires and broke them

Go to this part of the forum for info, a good read. I believe Gator is still monitoring the audio stick. Wealth of knowledge on audio topics.

consider component speakers, you can see the tweeter hole in the picture earlier. Remember these speakers play into our knees while driving. Worth consideration.
Good luck, have fun. If you drive with only yourself or 1 passenger you might consider spending a little more for the front speakers, and not as much for the rears, but they need the same power handling capacity. You can't really hear the rear speakers all that well in my scab.

Polk db571.
They are running off of my pioneer avh-p4300 ATM. They sound really great. I am thinking they will sound better with a smallish decent amp, thinking something 35-40w rms at 12v
Had I known there was a hole for the tweet before I started I would have looked at some components. Unsure if there are extra wires but there are plastic plugs for the harness that goes to the door. i didn't really look when I was in there.

You can get 1 set of component speakers (fosgate) that have tweeter that mounts in that hole in the door panel, and they don't need a crossover. I looked at the polk's and the infinity kappa series, kind of wished I would have gone with a component though.............the infinity's have an adjustable tweeter, don't ask me how that works I just read it......I wanted something that worked with the head unit I bought with the response level, and max power output........max power output can be over and under rated.......just because a speaker says 100 watt max, does not mean it can run that 100 watts all of the time, just at peak volumes. you have picked a good set of speakers if you go with those, I just would have thought about component speakers
