Default Replacing oem speakers

2004 screw fx4 new body

I want to replace the oem door speakers and looking online it shows 2 wires..one which I presume to goto the tweeter?

Would you just splice this into the new speaker wiring with some kind of crossover? Or is the x over built into the oem speaker?

Thanks in advanced

2 wires? one is for the positive and one is for the negative on the speaker. I dont know if you are talking about farther up the wiring harness, but the only 2 wires I know about are the + and -. Its pretty easy to switch them out, most are plug and play.

^^What this guy said.

Also, get the adapter that connects your stock wires to aftermarket speakers. It's alot simpler and makes for a cleaner install.

Closest bb is and an hour and a half lol...ill probably try to find em online ...

On another note ...how many people replace the tweeters without using component sets?

What size are they?

I'm still pretty lost as to the options and levels of features ford offered...I came from a long line of GM trucks and am very familiar with them. Figured of give ford a go and so far have no regrets...

Audiophile seems to be Ford's equivalent of Bose?

How do I know if my 04 fx4 screw has it? I have the 6 disc indash changer and the aux button.

I believe the audiophile system has a sub and amp built in under the back seat.
The factory speakers aren't *that* bad.
The head unit is the biggest problem

My speakers are scratchy...on the way out I assume so ill just replace em...I read somewhere that 04-08 you won't find tweeters in a ford without having the audiophile system.

If this is the case I'm pretty sure mysub isn't working
