2007 F150 XL 2wd.
I replaced a ball joint on the driver's side the other day and noticed that the face of one of the caliper pistons was broken and has a big chunk missing. (should of taken a pic) In searching out the cheapest price for a new caliper I found a replacement caliper piston on ebay that says it will fit. I found the came part on amazon and it says that it does not. So, I guess my question is is it possible/has anyone rebuilt the caliper on a 2004+ truck? I'm thinking about getting a new pair of pistons and a repair kit (around $24 vs. $60ish for the new caliper)

I would just replace the caliper. Not hard to rebuild one but not worth the $35 savings IMHO.

Thanks for the input everybody.
I found out these parts fit by finally hearing back from the manufactures and finding a write up on another forum. I'm currently off work and on a strict budget so $25 sounds great to me. Plus I enjoy fixing my own stuff rather than just replacing it and I need a little project to fight off going nuts sitting around lol.

How did the caliper rebuild go?
My right front started dragging/seized in traffic today. It released eventually, but it was not pleasant with the vibration and bouncing...
I'll either rebuild or replace, but wondered how yours turned out.

I know this is older but I just saw this comment. I had issues as the seller sent me the wrong part, in the right box but the replacement went easy. I had to break the old piston out where it was already broken it just crumbled. But after that and a good cleaning, I used a little break fluid and pressed the new pistons in with a c clamp. Also replaced the seals. Haven't had any issues since.
