Default replacement key

I own a 2008 Ford F-150 XL equipped with an aftermarket Code Alarm remote start system. I am interested in switching to a key fob with integrated remote start capabilities, like the one shown in the picture. Before making a purchase, I would like to confirm whether this key will be compatible with my current setup.

Welcome, regardless of whether that is an authentic Ford key or not, I do not believe it will be compatible. But contacting Code Alarm can give you a definite answer. I have never heard of a 3rd party alarm being compatible to a Ford product.

you can get a key like that that will work with your trucks stock features, but as already mentioned it’s doubtful you could make it control aftermarket start features.

You would be wise to find the fobs that go with the system you have and get them dialed in.

Like mentioned above, it’s a near certainty that the Ford fobs won’t operate on the same frequency as your system.

I did a little looking about that brand at lunch and it seems they do offer their own fobs for remote start. Without knowing your specific model, I can only imagine they’d work with your setup.
