My truck has a non-factory pinstripe that was added by a previous owner, as well as a chrome piece on the lower part of the doors. I included pictures, sorry if they uploaded sideways. I'm thinking about taking them off because I want to get some XD Addict wheels and I don't think they'll look good with these wheels. If I take them off will any kind of fade in the paint or anything be left behind from where they were at? Because the tailgate has a slightly faded spot where an old dealership sticker was and you can still clearly read what the sticker said, and I definitely don't want something like that showing down the entire side of my truck.

Depends on how long the stripe has been on the truck. To take them off, get a heat gun(I got mine at Harbor Frt), gently heat the stripe, and use a plastic bondo spreader to scrape the decal off. Don't hold the heat gun in one place, play it back and forth. Wipe the excess glue off with paint thinner. Than wax the truck. As far as the dealer sign on the back, you might try a little lacquer thinner and a soft cloth. Do not do this in the sun.

really I have no idea how long its been on there, I'm guessing a decent time though because some parts of the pinstripe are flaming some. I might look into trying it, I just don't know what to do if a faded line in the paint is left behind. Any tips on what could be done with the lower chrome pieces? same removal?

Mine also has a pinstripe. A while back I tried to take it off and even using heat it just kept crumbling every 1/4 inch or so and I got frustrated and quit. But what little I did get off I didn't notice any fading.

I removed mine with a hairdryer from an FX4... I believe mine was factory though. Regardless, you dont HAVE to use a heat gun ... a hairdryer worked perfectly. Do be sure to was heavily on that area though

X2 to the above suggestions. I've had good sucess w hair dryers, but your girl may get torqued when/if you burn it up. Heat gun is prob the best option but I wouldn't buy it from Harbor Freight... they suck. Throw the extra coin at a Milwaukee that'll last a lot longer. If it's been on for a while, it'll come off in little bits, so it's gonna take dedication to finish the job.
Some light cut compound followed by wax should fix your dealership shadow.

I have a heat-gun but have found my ole lady's hair dryer puts out more then enough heat to remove that stuff. You should be able to get those shadows out with some rubbing compound.

You can always rotate your pictures 90 degrees to the right as well.

I would be careful about the heat source you use. First try a hair dryer. Sure that with the dark/black paint the pin stripe will be a pain to remove. Keep yourself well hydrated while doing this job.

The easiest cheapest way to do it is a pinstripe eraser wheel. It will take ten minutes and the wheel is less $20 all you need is a drill.

Here is a video to watch. I use a little lower speed on the drill, but you can get the picture.
