Default Removing CDs

Apparently the former owner left some CDs in the 6 disc changer on my 07 KR. When I try to eject any or all it flashes CD ERROR or BAD CD or something like that. How do I get them out of the CD player? Any tricks.
Also still trying to figure out the aux power sources on the dash.

it seems like this is a common problem with this CD changer...mine does this and sometimes acts like it is cycling the CD changer when there are no CDs in the changer...I just kept trying until I was able to get them out...not all the same time but tried at different times.

I have seen some YouTube vids on the CD issues as well and had learned that sometimes home made CDs are thinner in construction than store bought ones and can "jam up" the system...if you use a thin object like a knife when your CD changer is trying to eject a CD (provided you actually have any in the changer) you can help guide the physical CD out of the slot...

mine does the search and cycle from time to time despite there no longer being any CDs inside my changer...good luck with yours

I had this happen in my Explorer and my truck. I took the stereo out of the truck and it was pretty easy to get them out that way, You CD player will likely never work properly though. I ended up replacing mine.

Default CD removal

Thanks for the input. I’ve seen the Youtubers as well. I’ll dig in there with a butter knife and see what happens before I do the apparently inevitable and remove and/or replace the changer.

Throw it out and buy a Bluetooth radio. Nobody listens to CD's anymore.

10-4 on that. My 98 F150 only had AM-FM-cassette so was looking forward to CD listening. But not a big deal. I’m old school FM radio listening anyways.

just to add, I didn't have to dig with the knife or anything...when I hit the eject I could see the CD near the opening and just used the knife as a guide and they came out...

good luck with your choice...I was thinking that when it gets warm enough I may remove the radio and remove the connection and clean it hoping the "hard reset" might fix it but based on the more I read about these...they really might be done for...
