Default 2004 FX4 Bed / Tire Size Question

Recently acquired a 2004 FX4 and am wondering A) Are there stake pockets under the plastic bed side caps? The bed is shaped as if there may be a pocket in the corner and I am wondering since I'd like to add some aftermarket bed rails. Also, my truck has the 18" FX4 wheels and a 2.5" front leveling kit and I am wondering what size tire I can safely run with this combination. Thanks for the help, I am downsizing from an F250 w/7.3 as we are no longer Fifth wheeling.

Yes .. there are pockets .. you can cut the outlined part of the rail cap for access. you can run 33's no problem with a 2.5" level 4WD on stock wheels. Going bigger you will have to trim possibly.

A good tire for your stock wheels and level is 285/75-18. It's basically a 34x11.5". My son is running this combination on his '05 with just a little bit of trimming and it never rubs. Looks good too, they fill the wheel wells nicely. A 12.5" width is really pushing the limits on a 7.5" wheel. Nothing "bad" will happen, but tire life will not be the best.
