I had one put on a previous car for $500. It was when they had just come out and was a Viper alarm system so that's why it was kind of high. I'm sure they've come down a bit but that's what it cost me about 3 years ago.

I got quoted 700, installed. That was for a Clifford with the LCD 2-way remote. That one also was an upgraded security too, so the remote start itself has to be less.

I have the Compustar 2WFM(AS) on mine, cost $450 installed. I love it because of the reason you stated. I start my truck about 5 min before walking out and when I get in it's nice and cool.

500 Bucks?

I helped my friend put one in his new 2006 Chevy and he had 250 into the whole system with the pats key bypass, (or whatever Chevy has for a security chip thing) and the 2 way bulldog starter/alarm.

it was a pain to wire but it did not get to bad as long as you took your time and did it right.

wow, those figures seem really high, my autopage system that came with my f150 runs for around 100-150$ on ebay (remote starter, alarm, keyless entry). I bought it used so it came installed, no idea what installation would cost maybe thats where the majority of the cost comes in.

You need to shop Ebay for one of those. I'm pretty sure I've seen them on there more than once for around 50$ brand new.
