I bought this one off amazon and it didn't fit well, so stick with the one he got.

Pretty cool, been looking into a newer style key (with the built in remote), or one of these. Couple other threads said the build quality wasn't the greatest, but if you like your flip key, going to order mine later today.

Last time I had a key made it was at walmart and they had to do it in a machine that added a magnetic code. Did your locksmith do this for the $2?

Hmm. So what was your total cost on this? And what all did you do if you don't mind me asking?

Interesting.

The procedures needed to program the key and the fob are all outlined in the manual.

If you do not have a manual:
Program your PATS key http://www.fordf150.net/howto/patskey.php

Program your fob:
** All transmitters must be programmed at the same time! Max of 4 transmitters can be programmed. **

- Keep the driver's door open.

- Electronically unlock the doors (Switch on door or working transmitter).

- Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the eighth turn ending in RUN. If the module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.

- Within 20 seconds, press any button on an transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each transmitter has been programmed. Repeat this step for each transmitter.

** If the door locks do not respond for any transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again. **

- To exit the programming mode:
-- Turn ignition to the OFF position.
-- Let the 20 seconds expire.
-- The maximum number of transmitters have been programmed.

You can have 1 fob on numerous vehicles, one of my truck fobs will open the wife's car.
