Personally when it comes time for mine. I’ll do the “Silver” warranty for $149 which is 3yr / 100k no fault and guaranteed a one time free labor and new motor.
I think you know within 3 yrs if the motor is bad. Most likely within the break in period. Also, I have not heard of 1 failed 5,4 3v PS crate motor,

So for me the $149 warranty and $199 install kit plus the motor s good enough.

NOT TRUE. I bought a powertrain products engine in july. Dorman stuff in it. Including I think the older style rocker arms, not the updated.

It's already sounding kinda sketchy. I wish I had realized it was all dorman, I would have bought from powertrain COMPANY. Powertrain PRODUCTS is not what it was.

get it in writing, or it doesn’t mean anything. Id ask to list brand and part numbers (for the timing related critical parts). Guessing you may have trouble getting them to do that. Don’t fall for the “OEM or equivalent” line.

Did you happen to (or plan to) ask them to disclose what brand/model parts are used (timing/phaser/oil pump)? Curious what they said and/or if they were willing to disclose in writing ?

I didn't even bother honestly Powersource states it on the sale add . Powertrain products and power train company both where at 4600 price range with power source being 4300. Thats with the Gold and installation kit.

Im jealous parkj5.
I’ll be getting mine from there in a few months.

Saving for the labor part right now. The couple trusted shops here priced me from $1700 -$3100
Post back here with the progress updates if you don’t mind and any helpful info. Good luck👍
