Default Rear shackle HELP NEEDED

I am in the process of putting lowering shackles on my rear end. The passenger side has been installed just fine, but the drivers side is giving me one huge problem.

There is a block of rubber shock absorber in the way making it impossible to take the top bolt out of the old shackle.

What do i do? Is the only solution to take off the front leaf spring bolt to drop it way down? (because that bolt was impossible to loosen)

My 07 driver side had a metal block with 2 rubber pieces mounted to it and I could not get the top bolt out so we cut it off and put in a new bolt that installed the opposite way of the factory bolt.

i had a similar issue but all I had to do was raise the jack under the axle to lift the spring high enough to slide the bolt through the opening above that bracket and retrieve it from the spare tire side. Hope that helps.

I had to cut the bolt but installed the replacement bolt the same way as the stock. I used a crowbar to raise the rubber thing high enough to clear the bolt head and it worked out fine. I didn't want to install it opposite as stock because it looks like there might be contact issues.

I ordered a new bolt since I'll be cutting the original to get it out. Hopefully I'll have it finished later this evening. Thanks for the help
