Yes, you can engage it and break the rear end loose if you stomp on it through a corner, but you'd have to be a pretty **** poor driver for it to be an issue. I've had my TT through two nasty winters on steep twisty mountain roads at 8500' and neither me or my wife have had issues cornering it on snow or ice. Even running floaty 37s.

On the plus side, the thing is always there when you need it - like going up my driveway. You don't have to come to a stop and turn it on like a selectable. The only weakness is if you are rock crawling where you have one tire hanging completely in the air, then you'd have to use some light braking to get it to spool.. but full size trucks make crappy rock crawlers anyway.

For a full-on hardcore crawler I'd go spooled or selectable. For a typical mixed use truck I'd go with the TrueTrac.
Since it sounds like you have some experience with this...if going into a corner when snowing/raining, how much gas do you have to give it before the true track sneaks up on you?

Depends on just how slick it is. I'd have to stomp it to break loose in just plain old rain. On icy corners I can do it just by goosing it a bit (again, running 37" M/Ts). I've never broken it loose driving 35+ mph on highway curves, only on tighter low-speed turns and corners.
