That sucks that the warranty is up. I'm gonna change my fluid soon. Its at 157k miles so I figure it needs to be replaced pretty soon.

my diff went at 55k while the previous owner had it(have the records) and they replaced the whole thing. Even did the axles because it messed the splines up just a little bit. Only thing we did different to mine was put in an extra bottle of friction modifier in it this time. the guy said it was common for our vehicles to have this kind of issue. and that the FM would help prevent this and keep the noise down and it has so far.

now i just keep fighting a leaking right rear hub seal because the dealer apparently do not know how to put an axle shaft in correctly.

well im not sure what all they replaced... they said it might be done today...hopefully ...

ive already got royal purple gear oil .. im going to run the stuff they put in for a few miles... and then add the royal purple... might add the modifer too( i dont think you have to with the royal purple tho but i am going to ask if i can add a bottle anyways )

i was told that you ALWAYS should run the modifier by 2 dealer and 2 hometown shop mechanics no matter what brand of gear lube you run back there.

Can you give us a general ballpark idea of how much it cost you to fix?

yes it was under warrenty... they raplaced the whole carrier... pinion bearings and seals... wheel bearings and seats and rear speed sensor and speed sensor ring gear... along with all the LSD parts... there supposed to send me a detailed recipt in the mail... when i picked it up they were crazy busy and i had to get going didnt want to be a pest so i just told them to send it in the mail...

I thought you said your warranty was up? So when does the warranty that covers differential parts end?

I'm at 63k and want mine checked out especially if it's under warranty still.

no .. i never said my warrenty was up......... rear diff is covered under 60k
