Rear diff fluid recommendations

I had assumed that was because of the shocks being worn out and were allowing the tires to spin some. My rear pinion seal is worn out and leaking (I do have a replacement, but haven't gotten around to installing it). Do you suppose it could also be because the diff is low on fluid?

If I was going to go through the work of bebuilding the limited slip, I'd do a mechanical locking set-up and avoid the clutches. Lack of timely fluid changes and clutches = destroyed clutches in no time. I've seen clutched limited slips be useless by 30k miles. The more the clutches grab, the more they wear, the more you have sandpaper then circulating through the diff's unfiltered fluid, further increasing wear. I do ALL my non-LS differentials by 30k, and LS diffs by 20k. 5 vehicles (2 are 4x4s) and 4 tractors... yeah, I go through some fluid. But, in the million miles I've driven in my life, I've never had a single mechanical failure or breakdown. I had a Ram a few years ago that after I replaced the diff and t-case fluids with Redline, saw a calculated increase of 2.7 mpg. Slippery is slippery. JMO.
