Default Rear Cat Delete

Let me start off by saying i have a 2004 new body.

I know this has been brought up alot and everything however what do you gain cutting the rear cats off? The person who installed my exhaust setup said that the only thing i would gain was one (1) HP per cat. I know that you will get better sound through the muffler but will the MPG increase as well?

Someone please help me out!!

I don't think you'll see that big of a difference, not mention that the performance and mpg is designed to work with the cats in place removing them may hurt it instead of helping it

i removed the rear two a week ago and the only thing you will notice is the sound. You will notice the sound alot more. It can annoy you if you dont like the drone. I want to say i notice that it pickups a little faster but maybe its just my foot wanting to hear the drone. but nothing major gained as far as mpg, i may have dropped some but like i said nothing noticeable.

You can also gain the possibility for a Federal Fine, as it is illegal to remove them. Keep them, as you'll need to re-install in order to trade in/sell the truck.

taking the cats out is just for the sound. theres no real benefit to removing them other than that. mine are out and not gonna lie its pretty loud. in the cab at 13-1500 RPM i can hear my truck more than if i were in my friends si/do flowmaster on his v10 f250 at wide open throttle. now i have glasspacks too but taking the cats out makes a significant change in the sound
