ready to pull my hair out! need quick advice on code
05 5.4 xlt code P0022 (im reading/searching)
Everything has been fine.. i got the random misfire on cyl 7 every now an then.. I stopped to get a new plug to see if that is what it was...
ALL new TIMING every component less then 1k miles
New Plugs and Cops less then 1k miles
Get ready to install new plug then I think might as well install muffler first.. Flowmaster Super 44. Get it installed take it around the block to make sure no exhaust bounce.... 25 ft from house i get weird knocking... pulled the code and P0022
I know it has to do with timing from the code scanner and from what im reading but all that is new.. literally started as soon as muffler went on.. could that have messed something up?

All new timing components but were the VCT solenoids changed? I've seen where people got that code and it was the solenoids. Also if you're getting a misfire when was the last time the plugs were changed?

Phasers
VCT solenoids

All was done at same time. Less then 1k miles ago.
Now cam position sensors as well been replaced.
Problem occurred. I finished what I was doing.. Recleaned Maf and TB replaced belt and a few pullies.
reset ecm still doing it... I have a video I need to put up, the sound to me is a phaser but ill need input.. I was/am hoping something different...

once it is at temp it seems to only do it at idle, if I put it in N or P and bring it up to 1500 or higher it wont do it.
yes on the phasers.
When the timing was done, all of it was done including oil pump and water pump. also the valve covers, timing cover and oil pan were taking off and cleaned.

Wow it sounds just like mine. I had a po345 code come up so replaced on bank 2 but replaced both parts as I did not know which was bank 2
I did the drivers side first but that did not remove the code so then did the passenger side and the code changed to po300 random misfire generic so don't know weather to get new plugs or not ?
I have bought motor craft phasers and vct sensors just in case of the worst
Any help would be great, thanks

Might be time to find somewhere that can run a full diagnostic on the truck. Did it once to mine and they told me it was the plugs. A lot of places offer it for free in the hopes that you'll have them fix it but it's not a binding thing. Take it in then do the repairs yourself. If you feel bad give them like $20 that's what I did.
