Default Raptor suspension conversion help

Hello, so my truck is undergoing a raptor conversion. It's a 2006 FX4, I just had the body work done, but still have a few details left to finish. I've already moved on to the suspension. Ordering my RPG customer Lower control arms to fit the raptor suspension. My questions are, will the stock UPPER control arms fit my 06' and will the stock tie rods fit as well? I was told yes from a few people, and no by others. The guy I spoke to at RPG wasn't sure, but they do offer custom ones as well.

I believe the lower arms are longer. If that is the case, you will need new uppers and tie rods. and axle shafts if its 4wd

I'm not sure if I understand what you are asking so I'll take a couple swipes at it and see if one takes.

1) Raptor spec RPG lower arms, 06 stock uppers - no. Different length arms.

2) Raptor spec RPG lower arms, stock Raptor uppers - yes, no and maybe:

- Yes because stock Raptor uppers will work with Raptor spec RPG lowers.

- No because 06 spindles are different than 09-up and won't work with Raptor arms.

- Maybe because some modifications need to be made to run 09-up suspension on the 04-08 trucks. It's been done so it can be done again.

I don't know about the tie rods - might be different because the spindles are different.

There are raptor width options now that fit your year group - Dirt King, TAP Auto sells them on this forum.

sorry should have been more specific, i mean will stock RAPTOR uca fit on my truck, since i will be using RPG custom lowers. I think after looking at the picture, i like the way the RPG tie rods look, plus better quality than stock.

Not without some modification and not with 04-08 spindles.

Brian: I have done the conversion. See my raptor flare side on the other f150 forum. Your uca and LCA fit fine with the stock knuckles. The axle shafts do not work or fit. I had 3" differential spacers custom made to widen the front end and accept the factory f150 cv shafts. $250 for those. The raptor tie rods are not the same thread pattern where they screw into the steering rack. I had to get mine machined to fit. Other than that they help and you should try to buy a set used. I used OEM raptor control arms on my truck. There is a bushing on the LCA that needs to be trimmed to fit into your f150. About an inch or so as I recall. I can send you pics of my truck if you like. If your truck has a lift kit it works much better because you can bolt on the raptor front and rear shocks too. I spent a lot of time on mine and it works great. I can you save you time and money.

04-08 knuckles are the same as 09-up?

That's the first time I'm hearing this. Even Brenthel differentiates the year groups - ie, 09-up lift spindles for 2wd but not for 04-08.

Here is a link to the pics on my truck on the other f150 forum.

The OP has a 4x4 not 2WD right? The knuckles play a very small role in the UCA and LCA change out. I put stock Raptor OEM UCA and LCA and tie rod's on my 2008 FX4. I have a rancho lift 4-6" (doesn't matter) because I let the Raptor front shocks dictate my ride height buy using a very small custom spacer to make it 6" Lift of just use mid perch on the Raptor shock to make it a 4" lift.
Adjust your rear blocks accordingly depending on much rake you want. The key is the custom differential spacers I had made. You can see them in the pics. Without these you would have to have longer axles custom made, or buy a set for of aftermarket ones from a Long Travel company.

War Surfer: A lot of the 09 parts are interchangeable (the motor too, except the intake, plugs and COPS). I just bought the stuff used and bolted it right on in most instances. The Body parts will bolt on too but you need them all (Hood, grill, fenders, etc...you can't use some without them all).

I would be glad to answer any questions. My Truck is using the Rancho Lift kit supplied Knuckles, however, if you don't want to lift your truck your knuckles will work.
