The controller tells the relays when to activate the fans. (I think thats right) You dont want/need your fans to run all the time. So I would say that you need them.

Were you not planning on removing the stock fan? You can add an E-Fan to help low-speed cooling. But Most remove the stock fan because it frees up a horsepower or two and gives you more room to work in the engine bay.

The stock fan has a clutch. It also has the ability to spin faster than the engine is turning (when air forces it to spin like at highway speeds). The fan always spins, but that is why its not as efficient as an E-Fan. An E-Fan can spin faster at low speeds, providing you with the CFU's you need to cool your radiator and air conditioning condenser.

Yes I am removing my belt driven stock fan to free up some HP,but I was wondering if I really really needed the control. A shop I went to jus told me to get a a wiring harness and a relay, that was it I did some research jus to make sure but everyone here seems to use the control.....

I am sure you can run without the controller, but the fan will just run (unless I am mistaken).

whats the problem if the fan runs on all the time? The only disadvantage is see is that it may draw power all the time as opposed to only some times
